3rd Prize for the Science Week Poster Competition
From a Science Competition to a Well-Deserved Award
At La Petite Ecole Hanoi, we believe that children learn best when they are encouraged to explore, question, and express themselves freely. This educational vision came to life during Science Week, held from 9 to 13 March, when our students enjoyed a week filled with discoveries, experiments, and hands-on learning experiences.
Today, we are very proud to announce that the students of La Petite Ecole Hanoi have won 3rd Prize in the Poster Competition organized by Odyssey Education as part of Science Week 2026.
This distinction is a wonderful moment for our school community and a true source of pride for our little scientists, whose enthusiasm, creativity, and sensitivity stood out throughout the project.
Celebrating Curiosity and Creativity During Science Week
The awarded project, titled “What makes kids’ lives good?”, invited children to reflect on what truly matters in their everyday lives. More than a poster, it became a window into the way young children see the world around them - with honesty, joy, and sensitivity. Guided by their teachers, our students explored simple yet meaningful elements that contribute to their happiness and well-being. Through drawings, conversations, observations, and collaborative activities, they shared the things that make them feel safe, loved, and inspired.
Their reflections included
- playgrounds where they can run, climb, and explore freely
- comforting objects such as teddy bears and LEGO creations
- joyful celebrations like birthdays and special family moments
- the presence of parents, siblings, friends, and beloved pets
- everyday pleasures such as dancing, singing, laughing, and playing together
What made this project particularly touching was the authenticity behind each contribution. Every child expressed their thoughts in their own way, building confidence while learning to communicate emotions, ideas, and experiences.
Throughout the week, students also participated in a wide range of scientific explorations adapted to their age and curiosity. The programme encouraged children to ask questions, test ideas, and discover how the world works through hands-on learning experiences.
Learning Through Wonder at Our International Preschool in Hanoi
At La Petite Ecole Hanoi, our educational approach places curiosity at the centre of learning. As an international preschool in Hanoi, we strive to create an environment where children feel encouraged to think independently, express themselves confidently, and develop a lifelong love of discovery. Science Week perfectly reflects this vision. Beyond academic learning, projects like these help children develop essential life skills from an early age: critical thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration, emotional expression, confidence in sharing ideas.
All begin with simple questions
- “Why does this happen?”
- “What would happen if…?”
- “How does this work?”
By giving children the space to investigate these questions in a supportive and caring environment, we help nurture both intellectual growth and emotional development.
This balance between academic curiosity and emotional well-being is an important part of daily life at La Petite Ecole Hanoi. Our bilingual and international learning environment encourages each child to grow at their own rhythm while benefiting from meaningful interactions, multicultural openness, and hands-on experiences.
Receiving this award during Science Week is therefore much more than a competition result. It is a reflection of the values we aim to cultivate every day within our school community: curiosity, kindness, creativity, and confidence.
We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful to our teaching team for guiding them with such dedication and care throughout this enriching experience.
Congratulations once again to our little scientists for this beautiful achievement 💙
