Family Brunch Day: Bringing Our School Community Together

On Saturday, 26 September, La Petite Ecole Hanoi welcomed families, students, teachers and staff for our Family Brunch Day. Held at the beginning of the new school year, the event offered a simple opportunity to reconnect, meet new families and strengthen the sense of community around the school.

Families brought a dish from their home country or culture, turning the brunch tables into a shared journey through flavours from around the world. Parents and teachers had time to meet and chat, while children played with their friends and enjoyed the morning together. For families who are new to La Petite Ecole Hanoi, the brunch was also a chance to meet other parents and become part of the wider school community in a relaxed setting.

Family Brunch Day was about more than sharing a meal. It reflected the multicultural community that is part of everyday life at La Petite Ecole Hanoi, where families bring different languages, cultures and experiences to the school. Each dish offered an opportunity to discover something new and share a small part of family life with others.

Taking place just after Vietnam’s Mid-Autumn Festival, the morning also introduced children to several local traditions. They watched tò he being made, discovered colourful hair braiding and gathered to enjoy a special lion dance.

These hands-on experiences gave children a natural way to connect with Vietnamese culture while also celebrating the diversity of their own school community. At La Petite Ecole Hanoi, family events like this are an important part of school life, creating opportunities for families, teachers and children to build connections and share experiences throughout the year.
