Throughout the school year, La Petite Ecole works with various organisations in Hanoi and its surroundings to strengthen ties with the local community and make an impact. In our latest project, our students donated their loved teddy-bears and collection of toys as part of our school’s “Doudou Donation” school project.

The team from La Petite Ecole visited the children at Làng trẻ em SOS Việt Nam, Phu Tho (SOS Children’s Villages Vietnam) with all the donations. A non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and caring for orphaned, abandoned, and disadvantaged children in Vietnam. Established in 1987, it operates under the international SOS Children’s Villages organization, which was founded in 1949 in Austria and now functions in 135 countries and territories !

The organization’s primary mission is to provide children with a loving and supportive family environment, ensuring their holistic development and integration into society. Each SOS Children’s Village in Vietnam consists of 12 to 18 family homes and a youth facility. In each home, an SOS mother cares for 6 to 10 children, fostering a family-like atmosphere.

SOS Children’s Villages Vietnam have many initiatives that aim to provide comprehensive care, education, and vocational training, empowering children to become self-reliant and contributing members of society.

This initiative was more than just a simple act of giving; it was a valuable learning experience for our students/community. Through this project, they learned the importance of empathy, sharing, and the impact of their actions on others.

The project also highlights the significance of community involvement in education. By engaging in this act, the school reinforces its commitment to fostering a sense of social responsibility among its families.

All in all, the Doudounation was a great project which reminds that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a profound impact. By fostering connections with organization like SOS Village, LPE is also contributing to a stronger, more compassionate community. We build together a brighter future, one toy at a time!
