LUC CHATEL

Odyssey was born out of the conviction that one of the major challenges of the 21st century will be that of education. In an era marked by profound social, ecological and geopolitical transformations, education is not only an essential personal asset, but above all “the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” (Nelson Mandela).

As its name suggests, Odyssey is first and foremost an adventure that a small group of founders embarked on following their passion:

  • Passion for education, this profoundly altruistic activity which combines the transfer of knowledge, compassion, high standards and innovation. Teaching requires real expertise, but it is above all a vocation that requires a soulfulness and a high awareness that the education received by our students contributes to shaping their future and therefore the world of tomorrow.
  • Passion for France and the French language, which embodies the spirit of the Enlightenment and values throughout the world. In a globalised world where English has become the main means of communication, French culture and the French language are opportunities for our students to excel in the international educational landscape.

As a recognised partner of the AEFE and other French institutions, Odyssey is nevertheless a private group whose ability to act depends on the contributions of families and therefore on their satisfaction. As a result, our commitment is not only to the student, whose success and well-being are our priority, but also to their parents, who are our day-to-day partners. This commitment can be summarised as follows: to offer each of our students an education of excellence by welcoming them, with their families, into a caring educational community open to the world.
