Our nursery and kindergarten students at La Petite Ecole Hanoi enjoyed a morning immersed in nature at Hat Mam Playground. Designed as a break from the traditional classroom setting, this outing offered a different learning rhythm—freer, more instinctive, and directly connected to the living world. For a nursery or preschool in Hanoi, these outdoor experiences are an essential part of a balanced educational journey, allowing children to explore, feel, and build their early knowledge through hands-on discovery.

Upon arrival, the children were invited to take part in a “little creatures hunt.” With magnifying glasses in hand, they observed leaves, followed the movement of insects, and—above all—took the time to truly look at nature. This simple activity actually engages a wide range of skills: curiosity, attention to detail, language development, questioning… all key foundations in early childhood learning.

A gardening workshop complemented this exploration time. Planting, touching the soil, and observing early sprouts helped the children understand the cycle of life and develop a respectful connection with nature. The morning ended with a creative session where leaves, twigs, and pebbles became tools for artistic expression.
